I rode the ACE just for fun in June. It definitely gets you from the
strip to downtown a lot quicker than the Deuce and gives you a chance
to see some off-the-beaten-path scenery in the "Arts District" along
the way. As other folks have mentioned, the limited number of stops
on the strip might be a drawback for a lot of people. It wasn't very
crowded when I rode it and not having to mess around with the fare
when you get on makes the stops a lot quicker (the "Conductor" takes
care of that once you're rolling).
But don't get fooled and try to catch it southbound from the Downtown
Transit Center.
