Fine, but...what does a 3-day visitor really need the tram for? When
staying at a central spot (anything between Munt, Weteringschans and
Leidseplein), almost everything is within walking distance.
A 3-day visitor is not going to the ArenA, Osdorp and Durgerdam, is he?

The he doesn't need any sort of ticket and the whole of this discussion, not
just my comment, is moot!

Bingo, Tim!

[Unless the visitor has difficulties walking several miles a day...but
then again, maybe Amsterdam is not quite the place to visit, anyway.]

Hi,

the all amsterdam transport pass is 26euros... sure there are some
discounts... but ONLY ON THE DAY THE PASS IS VALID

a 7.5 trip strippenkart (15 strips) is 7.60$ or about a euro a trip

a 24 hour ov card is about the same at 7 euros... so I'd need to make
MORE than 7 trips a day by tram to make it worthwhile.

but if I don't use all 15 strips in a day on a strippenkart I can use
them the next day... or even the next trip to amsterdam.

so for me a strippenkart plus my bike is still a better arrangement.

Hi,

actually I have a GREAT DEAL OF DIFFICULTY walking any real distance...
that's why I like amsterdam... and my bike... it's door to door
transportation... my bike folds and I can even take it on the tram for
long trips.
