From: Marsha L on 18 May 2010 17:35 Today was the first time I returned to the Kmart since mentioning it in the post below. As you can see, it's been almost a year. I haven't had any reason to go in, nor any inclination, even though I drive right past fairly often. The changes have of course been completed. There's a new grocery section, taking up about a third of the space the old one had. The rest of that side of the store is now a Sears Clearance Center. That's mostly major appliances, and no one was in there. Very few people were anywhere in the store when I was there. Maybe 10:30 on a Tuesday morning is a particularly "off" time? Trader Joe's (same shopping center, just a couple of doors away) was busy enough that I stood on a short line to check out. Most of the food which was there is already gone, a lot of what remains is on sale, 30-50% off.

They don't have a butcher, but all the meats come from local independent farms and is far superior to what you find in the other stores. However, you're right, it is quite expensive. My wife works at this store and gets the meat at half price the day it is marked to expire. She gets it free the day after expiration! Kurt

Maybe someday Vegas will have that. Ronald Emerson. Is it June yet?
