March 10/07 - Day 4 of 11 - Animal Kingdom

It was another early day - on the bus and at the park before 8:00 a.m.! MJ
and Dave decided that they wanted to see how much it would cost to add a
couple days to their hopper passes. For three of them, it was only around
$18! In fact, the cast member who was helping them out actually had to go
see his supervisor because he couldn't believe the incredible savings we had
on our package - something like $130/person!

The rope dropped and the stampede began! MJ, Dave, and Tim wanted to do
Everest but the kids and I didn't so they ran to Eerest while I took the
kids to get a Fastpass for the Safari and we walked the Pangani trail. We
had an awesome view of the animals - the day was clear and cool and the
animals were active. Not to mention the fact that most people hit Everest
or the Safari as their first stop and overlook the trails. We had some
great CM's who were happy to talk to the girls at each viewing stop. The
meerkats were particularly funny - they were wrestling right by the viewing
spot. We met up with the other folks and hit the Safari. Again, the
animals were very active because it was such a beautiful morning.

We decided to forgo some of the usual stuff we see - Lion King, Pocahontas -
and we headed over to see the new Nemo show. There was quite a lineup so we
had a bit of a wait. This is our first time in that theatre. All I can say
is WOW!! The show was amazing. The puppets were incredible, the staging
was fun, and the songs were charming. I think this may be my new favourite
stage show. It was incredibly imaginative show. We all enjoyed it very
much.

We decided that the kids had hit the wall in terms of endurance so we headed
back to the hotel for a nap and a swim. We decided that souvenirs were
calling so we hit the Premier Outlet Mall. Tim discovered this mall with
the Disney outlet store on our 2003 trip and he enjoys wandering around it
when the girls need a rest. We managed to get a ton of stuff for our
friends and family back home fairly cheaply. We grabbed a quick dinner at
the mall and then decided to hit Downtown Disney. The girls have been
whinging incessantly about Ghirardelli's so we promised them a trip there.
However, three trips around the Downtown Disney parking lot convinced us
that this probably wasn't the best place to be so we returned to the hotel.
Tim and Dave really wanted to hit Old Town - stupid car guy stuff - so we
took the girls to the food court and got ice cream there. A very decent
brownie sundae indeed! The girls were pooped and daylight savings time goes
into affect tonight so it's best we hit bed early.
