Where is his LIVELIHOOD if the person on the street isn't booking with
him? Unless his clientele is strictly multi-millionaires unaffected by
the economy. Otherwise it behooves him to try to convince people that
they should be upbeat.

Pay no attention to the man behind the mirror.

MGM just opened a 12 billion dollar hotel and casino complex in Las
Vegas. The hotels are 50% empty and the customers that are there are
being siphoned from other MGM properties. Vegas as a whole is in the
toilet due to people not having any money to spend on vacations. Same
with Atlantic city. The Olympic Game venues are not sold out and at many
events, locals are being given free tickets just to fill the empty
seats. Vancouver will lose millions on this deal.

But leave it to Ray and George to say that cruise tourism is going up.

Rose colored glasses, anyone?

Does anyone else get daily email offers from the major cruise lines to
fill those last minute berths at under $50 a day like I do? It must be
so easy to pay off a $500 million ship at $50 a day per pax. Maybe
Carnival got a bailout from TARP we didn't hear about?

You ask: "What is this economy?" And then you throw in a smiley face?
You're kidding right?

Is that a laugh or a smile at people who are out of work? A smile or a
laugh at people losing their homes? Is that joy or amusement at the
pain of others?

Wow...

Thanks Ray.

Hi Tom,

The laugh was at the way he spelled "economy". Sorry you did not
catch that.

To put even more pressure on smaller cruise companies or companies in
financial difficulty? It's a Walmart strategy. Attack when the other
guy is weak. If you have the money during bad times, you'll be the one
to survive when the other guy won't. Eventually you'll be the only one
left.
