You said the same about Royal Caribbean. You came and now you like
their ships. I think Carnival was in the cards this year for Vikings no
matter what because people wanted something different.

Carnival is not the best cruise line but it is not as bad as you have
convinced yourself.

Easy... you would be missing a good time with your friends. It isn't
just about the ship.

I'm often asked what is my favorite cruise line. Most of the time I say
that Princess is... but here lately, I've come to realize that it is
getting harder and harder for me to pick one over the others. They all
do some things well and they all exceed what I expect from a cruise in
the way of food, service, facilities and entertainment. (Except NCL...
but I hear they are improving).

I think Royal Caribbean and Celebrity have the best ships, Carnival has
the best food, Princess has the best over-all "feel" on a ship.... and
all of these things are so subjective that it is impossible to
categorically say that one line is "better" than any other. Things
that I like may not be important to other people so what I think may be
"best" may be the worst for someone else.

Living here in Louisiana, I'll quote Justin Wilson when he was talking
about wine.... "The kine I like bes is the kine whut I got!"

Linda said years ago that she thought Princess did the best job of doing
everything well... like they looked at the best things everybody else did
and tried to integrate it as best they could. They may not have any single
expertise, or they may not be the best in any single category, but they seem
to do many things very well. Like they were the only line that put TWO
gangways in ports like Trinidad or Barbados... so instead of waiting in one
long line to get on or off the ship, there were 2 lines. Sometime Celebrity
had TWO, but one was only for crew. Princess also started the "separate
stations" for the buffet well over a decade ago which I think is far and
away the best design. You can hop from place to place with no lines. Their
food might not be as good as Cunard or Celebrity, but it's still really
good. Just lots of things done very well.

Stu, I don't think it has anything to do with age. IMO it has to do with
seeing it again and again and again and getting bored with it.
