And what happens if they develop an large scale energy source in say 50 years that runs on salt water and can heat homes, power automobiles, transports and heavy machinery. All that black goo we could have got $60 for is now mothers natures oil spill not worth the cost to clean up. Actually, 100 year of life left at current prices. There is hydrocarbons almost everywhere. The question is that of economics, the higher the prices goes, the more there is that is economical to develop. Sort of like labor costs, there is never was a "shortage", there is always a "shortage of pay to attract the labour" or "there is a shortage of people willing to work for $10/hr when they can get $15/hr else where". The bubble will not burst any time soon from market conditions. Perhaps from NEP II which is a self induced one. Which is why Alberta should leave confederation and settle the resources question once and for all. |
