I went out for a few minutes, saw a couple, decided the local lights would
probably knock my ZHR down to about 12, and went to sleep.

After seeing the Leonids in 2000 from a dark desert location, few showers
are going to compare. I'm tough to impress now.

That sounds like a must-do! I want to plan a camping trip for meteor
watching for next year, but I'm afraid the Perseids are always plagued
with rain. Perhaps I'd have better luck trying to see the Leonids.
