OK I think these links will work for anyone, whether or not you have a
Flickr account.

For reference, here's a link to a photo of the exterior of the Alligator
Bayou buildings, so you can see what our ultimate intention is:

Now here's what we've done so far:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/ginnyfavers/4760005863/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/ginnyfavers/4760005549/

Not sure yet how to incorporate the look of the millwork that's so
prominent. One idea is trellis on the big white wall with climbing
clematis and honeysuckle. Another is a fancy wood screen door.
Probably go with both. I found a good source for millwork screen doors
here: http://www.vintagedoors.com/vscreenstorm.html

Just curious, did you make or buy the Mickey head? I'm looking to make ends
for a garden banner holder, but can't find the proper
dimensions/measurements to make a claissic Mickey.

Looks great, by the way!

Thanks!

Joe made it from scratch. The dimensions are 9" head and 5" ears.
Don't know if that's really Disney's logo specs or not, but it's what he
did. He started with pre-existing 5" bottoms of shell casings from
smoke canisters he had sitting around at work. Then he cut the head out
of a sheet of steel. Welded them together, and spray painted it all
matte black.

It's bolted into the brick chimney with a bolt in the middle of each
ear. You can see them when the sun's right, or up close, but generally
they're invisible. He had to touch up the paint after bolting it on, of
course, and paint the bolt heads.
