Wrong. There is consensus that the man made component is VERY SERIOUS,
even from USA scientists from NASA and NOAA. However, those reports
showing conclusive evidence that it is a VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM have been
edited by the white house to allow the white house to claim there is no
consensus and no clear cut evidence. The writers of all those reports
providing evidence have been told to not make any interviews with the media.

Consider this: a large percentage of the staff hired when the current
regime took office in 2001 came from the olil industry in Texas. And a
large percentage of the funding to get Cheney/Rumsfeld/Wolfwwitz into
office came from the oil industry.

Taking action to curb global warming is a double whammy on the oil
industry: As individuals and industries become more energy efficient,
the oil industry see less growth because people will require less fuel.
And because the oil industry itself is a very large polluter (its oil
refineries pollute plenty), they would also need to spend lots of money
to upgrade their plants.

For industry in general, taking steps to reduce oil consuption is a
positive economic impact on them, especially at current oil price. By
editing the hard scientific evidence , the white house essentyially
catered to the oil industry's desired to make even more money.

And if you don't believe that the white house purposefully edited those
documents, then you need to ask your media to do their job. If BBC can
provide the proof that this was done, thens surely your US media could
too. They obtained the original copies of the reports and compared with
those released by the white house. And they interviews a former white
house worker whose job it was to design the strategy to give the white
house an "out" on Kyoto.

Of course, once every strom starts to flood sections of New York, the
USA will panic and demand the rest of the world cease to use oil. But by
then, it will be too late. And curently, while there is debate on the
actual rate of melting of ice, there is agreement that within 100 years,
flooding of manor coastal cities will be MAJOR.

Scientists don't really know for sure.

That may be a long wait.

Nobody knows what the world will be like in 100 years.
