I presume you do not eat standard commercial rice or corn breakfast cereals. This is not a criticism, since I don't either. My reason is that I am diabetic, and eating such things, especially first thing in the morning, will send my blood glucose to the moon. I eat protein and fat first thing in the morning. I have type 2 diabetes, a life style disease but I have never had the lifestyle. I currently weigh between 55 and 56 kilos, and I have to work hard to maintain that weight. My weight at the time of diagnosis was 54 kilos. I tried anti-diabetic medicine which was a disaster, bringing my weight to my all time adult low of 51 kilos. I stand 168 centimeters. I now control my disease with diet and exercise alone. Donna Evleth

Even the local convenience stores sell it. There is corn flakes, and also Kellogg's Special K, just to mention the ones I think of right off. There are others. However, just because they are there doesn't mean that those of us living here eat them. Donna Evleth

I eat rice in the form of cooked basmati rice or in prepared meals like risotto or whatever. Why was medicine a disaster?
