From: Buddenbrooks on 14 Jan 2010 11:48 I have just received a checklist from Easyjet for my soon flight. It gives smaller dimensions than the web site. Can anyone confirm that they have travelled with 'one standard piece of hand baggage to maximum dimensions of 56x45x25cm' rather than the smaller size in the checklist, 'not exceeding the maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20cm. ' Please don't just refer to the Easyjet web site since it is Easy Jet documentation that is inconsistent.

' What you really need is someone to measure one of those wire frames they have. That's the only criteria they use in practice. -- Roland Perry

A colleague recently with a different airline got charged extra going out because his bag jammed solidly going out and slipped in easy coming back. He did get his money back.

' They have changed to the IATA size (they call it that) of 56x45x25 and have replaced all the cages for that purpose, though I haven't measured them and my usual hand luggage bag isn't that big. I would say the checklist was wrong. I think one reason for the change (other than to make them more competitive as a business airline) is that the overhead bins in the Airbuses appear noticeably larger than the Boeings and can fit the larger size more easily. ' I've just booked an Easyjet flight for February, and the Boarding Pass says: "Hand Baggage Policy Each passenger is allowed one piece of hand baggage only, including any hand bags and laptop cases. All hand baggage must be within the maximum dimensions of 56 x 45 x 25cm." ps. They wanted 8 credit card fee for a one-leg trip!! -- Roland Perry |
