Amarnath Shrine Amarnath shrine is located at a distance of about 145 km from Srinagar city. It is one of the holiest places of Hindus in India. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Amarnath Shrine's main attraction is the naturally formed Shiva Lingam of ice. Best time to visit Amarnath Shrine is from July to August, as it remains cut off from rest of the world because of the heavy snowfall in the area.
