Could be. The fishing question made me wonder but I am still giving him
the benefit of the doubt. Like it could be something like this-- it is
his wife's idea, that he wants to satisfy her but does not think he
would like a cruise so is coming up with excuses, but might go ahead
and do it for her. And it could turn out fine if they go on a cruise.

Have you ever been on a cruise line other than Carnival?

Just saying George, perhaps a disclaimer..."in my opinion".
Many here know you, but newbies don't.

and yas isn't popeye, except maybe in the buffet line ;)

But to be honest, all cruises are different but the same, take one
that best suits you.

Yes RC and Princess, twice on Carnival. I have one more cruise to do,
when my wife retires. Then if it's anything, it will be land based
like a month in Portugal, San Juan, Barbados, somewhere warm in
January and February. I could enjoy Mexico if it wasn't for all the
rude Americans. Now don't any of you take offence, I'm just stating a
fact, ask anyone other than an American.

Doning my asbestos longjohns.

Caribbean Travel and Life is a great magazine and yes, the mag does
provide a good overview of the Caribbean. You have been bombarded
with info on your original post.

One thing, regardless of the cruise line, 2500 passengers on one boat
is the same amount of people on any boat, you will find crowded places
on board, you will find less crowded places, it is all the same. For
value, you will find a Caribbean cruise will get you the most for your
money. A cruise with three, four or five ports of call will leave you
with a life time of memories and photographs. Most likely, you will
plan another cruise when you get home.

We booked all of our cruises through an on-line discount cruise
website. Once we paid for and received our confirmation we called the
cruise line and that employee helped us with any questions or
additional services. We found that by booking early, like 6 plus
months, we have received upgraded cabins every time. When we booked
last minute, as soon as ten days from departure, we received the
biggest discount. Do it your self and call the cruise line, you will
receive the best service at the least cost. Spend your money on the
ship and on shore excursions.

My wife and I like to book airfare with an arrival day one day before
our cruise departs, we have a day of insurance in case the airlines
lost our luggage, besides, we can visit the city for a day.

One other bit of advice, my wife and I are well traveled, we book our
shore excursions our selves, for a first time cruiser, you may want to
book your shore excursions through your cruise line. If you are late
returning on a cruise ship booked excursion, the boat will wait for
your, you are sol if you book you own excursion, the same holds true
for airfare, the boat will wait for you if your plane is delayed.

My wife and I prefer a balcony room and have found balconies are a
nice way to enjoy our room, with a preference for an aft corner
balcony room, they have he largest amount of balcony room. We have
booked a balcony under the aft swimming pool and there is no extra
noise, the pools are closed at night.

The website I mentioned, www.cruisecritic.com is the best information
site on the web with regards to cruising. The information is to the
moment on any aspect of cruising.

You will enjoy.
