From: wellty08 on 26 Jul 2010 02:07 Hi everyone, Hi folks.. The airfare from the US to Vienna is quite high. Is there a cheaper way to get there? I was wondering if folks fly into another city and then travel to Austria by local flights or rail? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.. -- wellty08 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ wellty08's Profile: http://forums.yourdomain.com.au/member.php?userid=475 View this thread: http://forums.yourdomain.com.au/showthread.php?t=324021
From: brownr72 on 26 Jul 2010 11:05 Vienna Airport as such is not low-cost airline friendly, but as it has been mentined already Bratislava is only 60km (40 miles) away and is served by numerous low cost airlines. I'd probably fly to a major European hub i.e. London/Amsterdam/Paris/Frankfurt and catch a (low-cost) airline from there. In case of London there are numerous flights to Bratislava. I'd also consider Prague, Brno and Budapest as possible alternatives because it's very easy to get to Vienna from there. Don't forget that not only "low-cost" airlines but also "traditional" full-service carriers often have competitive prices (Czech Airlines, Malev). -- brownr72 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ brownr72's Profile: http://forums.yourdomain.com.au/member.php?userid=483 View this thread: http://forums.yourdomain.com.au/showthread.php?t=324021
