That place was there when I worked at the Horseshoe in the '60s only
it was half the size it is now; it's since taken over the pawn shop
that was on it's north side. The place was the same then as it is
now, except for the "no touching" rules. Evidently, they paid off the
old LVPD enough to be left alone. LVPD was probably too busy to
bother with them since they were busy collecting $10 per dealer per
week for the "beat officers association".
