I understand your views and experieces. Sincerly I do.

May I share a perception please. People do not make friends over the
internet. They create personas and interoduce that persona to others.
People enjoy the proper aninimous(sp) status offered by the internet. Many
people here do that. Some express it in anything other than their real name
in an email address, others use nome de plumes / fake names. Since you
cannot get to really know someone (no social risk) over the internet how can
there be a true, honest relationship / friendship when developed soley over
the internet? There cannot be. After a person feels comfortable with
another person they may agree to meet in a public place and enjoy a steak as
we have. You are a very civil person, polite and good natured (A bit
verbose, but that is cool :) However, the people here will nevber grow to
apreciate the actual Mike because you have vomited the loud, cantancerous
persona so well that they cannot see through it to the real you.

The Mike that I know and appreciate as a good person and friend, is a well
balanced and honorable man. The Mike that others see is a loud person that
dosen't care about the feelings of others. Sorta like a husband that "gets
his first and could not care less about his wife". Ever seen a bully in a
school yard? They are loud and pushy so others stay away. They want no one
to get close enough to hurt them, so they scare them away. Go back a
re-read those last three sentences please. People are drawn to the human
side of others, the side that says, "How do you do today, So very nice to
see you". They love to hear their name in conversation as it shows that
you care for them, you value them, you listen to their words in
conversations. This is not selfishness on their part, ...just being human.

Being out of step, singing off key, walking in the rain while holding an
umbrella in your hand are things that othes may look at and develope a view
on. May I use myself as an example? I hope you won't mind. :)

If I were to have the honor of attending a local Temple (and there is such a
historic and old Temple down the road) services. Having only been to a
service when I was younger, a briss ( a friends son not mine! :) I would not
have te appreciation of what was happening. If I were to say a Hail Mary,
Our Father, etc... being Catholic, ...one might say I was a bit off step,
out of phase. Plus, I would do the very ineficient act of possibly giving
pain or disruption to to others, understandably. It's not that the act
itself is wrong, but the timing / place could definately use some work, to
put it lightly.

The contributions you are making to the newsgroup would be similiar to a
person doing something that is out of step or out of phase with others. It
might be that the other person wants to be an "individual" and seems to be
so in a rather original way that does not mix well with the domonant social
flow. That is what is happening. The batter is in the right place,
everyone is ready to play ball, and you are pitching to...the outfield. OK,
that is a strong pitch, now, let's just direct it. (the numbness in my
fingers from diabetes is so that I make more spelling errors, please bear
with me ;)

You are a very good man and have failed to show that good side to others
here. That is your act. I see the good side of you regularly. You are a
good man and one that I respect and appreciate and value as a friend. Don't
show off as no one here will hurt you unless they feel like a target. You
must understand that they may not just retaliate, but make a pre-emptive
strike possibly.

May I suggest that we open our hearts (do not say no, just act out your
part) and give our ng brother a break, and not on the neck or backbone :)
We all need a break everynow and then. If you are calling others and
hanging up, or doing bad things, they'll have to stop in order for your to
be viewed as the good man you are.

Later gator, I yama gonna wawk da Rot dawgs!! Sweet lille doo-doo factories
on four legs that they are! :)

Mejore un perro vivo que un len muerto
(Better a live dog than a dead lion)

Don, leaving tonight!!!!

Mikey offered to let anyone who wanted access to his webcam but has yet
to let anyone see it. That isn't a perceived impolite social brush. That
makes him a liar.
