Dead's one thing, but I sure as hell couldn't stand by and watch someone
else be abused or attacked.

It's a sign of lacking humanity to be able to stand by and watch... or run
away.

Disgusting.

I'm not sure that I personally know anyone who could morally stand by and
let something like that happen.

*shudder*

I think anyone who just watched and did nothing, is just as guilty as the
guy who committed the actual act.

But again, that's just my opinion. Or should I say, my moral obligation...

Or they could have been knifed and added to the death list. The more
probable outcome given the circumstances.
If you would have done that (and you are talking from the safety of a
chair and a computer) good for you. But to scourge a someone else
because they aren't prone to such things is hardly proper. Again,
especially from one who wasn't there.

Suicide is still suicide. I guess it is just a little more
benevolent when you throw your life away in defense of another,
especially one most likely already dead.

I worked too long with cops and on the ambulance to harbor any nice
thoughts about what happens when untrained individuals go about trying
to save people. If I had an upper level martial arts belt, then I might
have considered it.
