WHOA! I was not there...you were not there so let's stop the judgmental
stuff!
As an RN who worked the psychiatric wing for over a year and a half, I am
very well aware how traumatized everyone had to be on that bus. I only
expressed that I was concerned with the non-caring attitude that I see each
day..one human towards another. I hope that was not the case on this
bus...Not long ago, the TV news showed over and over a man who was struck by
a car and left lying there while several other cars hit him and NO ONE went
out to stop traffic and help him even though there were many people on the
sidewalks viewing this horrible scene.. These are the things that disturb
me. Some people would do more for a stray dog!

I still would come to someone's aid if they were in trouble but I am not
stupid to think I could do something against some one bearing a gun or a
knife and I am not proclaiming heroism...just caring about my fellow human
beings...so knock it off.

LOL! I am NOT patting myself on the back...for crying out loud and who said
I would be rushing in? I am talking about CARING about others when they are
in trouble...I am not that stupid that I would react foolishly against
anyone with a knife or gun. ALL I am saying that too often in this world,
people do not want to get involved when some one is in trouble or hurt. You
come off as a know it all...my son has over 22 years as a police officer and
has been on the SWAT team and has done undercover work for ten of them....so
spare me all your so called wisdom!

Reread what you wrote-
...."but I still feel that I must do something when
another human being is being harmed. Sometimes the perp does not think
anyone will react and is counting on it."

How can I come off as a know-it-all when I've barely posted here? LOL
Are you making that judgment based on my one post?
Perhaps it is all *my* years in trauma work? Maybe *I* do know a few
things...eh?

And I stand by those words, but I would do it with wisdom and depending on
the circumstance as to what action it would require to cause minimal harm to
all involved...but I would not walk away. I am not inexperienced in trauma
work either.
