Hi Kurt,

I might be one of the founders of the snake pit. My dad and I watched the
1946 race from inside turn 1. George Robeson, I think, won with a green 6
wheeler and Shorty Cantlon crashed over the outside turn 1 wall and was
killed. The snake pit built over the years and I moved to box seats in the
Paddock. I went to at least 30 races in a row until my occupation dragged
me away. I'm way to infirm for the snake pit, but the memories are still
there. Memories of Mauri Rose, Bill Holland, Ted Horn, Bill Vukovich, it
was a great time. Thanks for the reminder.
