Just thought of something, though...is the highest deck under the public
areas?

Why not go to the HAL website - they have the deck plans of all the
ships and you can see where everything is.

I've looked there and in the brochure I have, and it's not that easy to
figure out what is what from the deck plan...at least not for me. I was
hoping to get some real life info from someone who has actually sailed
on that ship.

Two points

a) Any of the same class of ship will have more or less the same
configuration, The names of the public spaces and dining rooms may be
different, but the stuff is all in the same place on each of the
sister ships.

b) No one can tell you exactly what you will experience except from
the same place on that or a similar ship unless they have been there.
And while there are people with lots of experience on various ships,
in order to have someone who had exactly the experience you are
seeking, you'd have to have an extremely large pool of people.

I do think that website is less easy to use than some others I've
seen. I'll see if I can find one that is better.

You could print out the deck plans and then line them up to see what
was under/over what. I look at the elevators (since it is unlikely
that the elevators will be in crooked shafts) and figure out what is
fore and aft of each elevator on each deck. So if there's only ten
rooms aft of the aft elevator on deck 10 and 14 rooms on deck 9, it is
probable that deck 9 can be overlooked by deck 10.

OK, thanks. I guess I got such good info from the first person I talked
to at Princess that I never had to figure anything out myself. I may
call HAL and get some info from them. I see a lot of different
categories of veranda rooms, and I'm not even sure what I'm looking for yet.
