All political parties demandin stiffer measures against immigrating roma speak only of nationals of Romania, Slovakia etc. as they don't want to be labelled as racists. Natutrally this then turns into discrimination of say romanians of Romania and bulgarians of Bulgaria etc. which are not roma, but distinctively of different race than the finns. The diplomats, businessmen, legal construction workers and so on are also beginning to have a bad time in Finland. > The rom, or gypsies started on their western migration perhaps as long > as 1500 years ago from s. asia. Is this "authority" speaking of oppression in africa or even > in s. asia? Quite true. The roma population of Finland is lutheran, of Romania orthodox etc. All romas are supposed to speak their native language roma, but with separation of centuries the roma language of today is not the same all over Europe. The ca. 10.000 Finnish roma do not understand the language of Romanian roma and they lack all feelings of unity with roma from former socialist countries.
