Do Jews or Buddhists or Taoists "dislike" the other groups in the sense that
they are "disliked" by others?

Observe Singapore at Christmas time. Christmas is
universal, except among those nursing grievances against
Christianity and Christians. If you wish a Singaporean
ancestor worshipper "happy holidays" he will wonder if
you have checked your calendar lately.

How can you not "participate"? Christians and other fans of
the holiday -- especially merchants -- run the holiday down your
throat, starting in late October.

Since the holiday is really about spending money you don't
have to buy stuff no one wants, it really ought to be called
Consumermas or Capitalismmas. It is true a fairy tale about
a religious figure or two is associated with it, but no one
seems to take them very seriously except as magic dolls.

Not around here. There were some serious sales displays in early October
this year.
