As I understand it, the Lady Luck hotel & casino is slated to reopen
sometime this fall. The original remolding project was delayed over a
power struggle between two prominent Vegas families vying for
dominance in the downtown area. Just like something out of the
Godfather. The hotel ironically enough will have Chicago based theme,
complete with red velvet carpeting and a gold speckled ceiling. The
roof will have a helipad for helicopter tours of downtown, which will
include flights directly down Fremont Street. The helicopters will
either hover or touch down for a brief landing during Fremont Street
Experience light shows.
The canopy itself will go go through yet another upgrade to 3-D
IMAX.
As if this wasn't enough, Sigfried and Roy will be coming out of
retirement to perform two shows nightly in the new Lady Luck stadium.
Stay posted for further developments on this exclusive scoop.

This is exciting info. I hope that it is true and comes to fruition.
I really liked the LL and missed it. The flights will be a great
thing!
WOW! This is exciting, I love downtown so much, largely because it is
a quick bus ride from my home not far from there. It was great for us
to get up early in the AM and eat at the LL.

Man, I hope this is true, I am excited for the return of a grand dame
of Vegas.

"On March 15, 2010, CIM Group made an agreement with City Officials to
have the renovations completed by December 31st, 2011. There is the
potential that the hotel/casino will reopen in 2012, 5 years after its
originally scheduled reopening in 2007." From the Wikipedia article
