I don't know whether you include these in "standard tours" but have you taken a boat from Westminster and visited Kew Gardens ( a guided walk is very worthwhile) or taken the train to Hampton Court or Windsor? They are well worth doing if the weather is good. I would expect that an overnight stay would be needed for York. I don't know what things are like these days but I certainly enjoyed visiting Stonehenge and Salisbury. I'll look into this :) Canterbury and Salisbury are both nice day trips. If you want to do some walking outside the town, Salisbury's probably better. Don't know if you hit Greenwich on your other trips - I enjoyed it (enjoyed Kew too at the other end). I hear St. Albans makes a nice day trip, but I haven't been there yet. I'll second Oxford, though I haven't been there yet. I'm envious! I won't be able to think about going back until the credit card's paid off. - Mark
