Can't you get little Mickey and Minnie decals? Might brighten 'em up
a little... I mean, then you could just wear your normal open-toed's
and not even consider the Birkenstocks.

WAIT!!! I don't remember Rodney wearing open toes shoes last December!
Southerns wear sandals all year long.

I'm not big on open-toe shoes. I have one pair of Ecco sandals and I
bought a pair of Sanuk flip flops in Seaside the other day, but that's
it. My favorite shoes are loafers so I don't have to bend over to tie
anything (back problems). The problem is, I have a really high instep
so finding loafers that fit is a challenge. Around the house, I usually
just go barefoot (and that's definitely a Southern thing).

I have a pair of Keens and a pair of fancy dressy sandals. Mostly I wear
New Balance. Barefoot is good. Doesn't ruin the polish.

I only buy New Balance for athletic shoes - they fit me the best. But I
don't wear them unless absolutely necessary because that means bending
over to tie them.
