Employing the same strategy that catapulted him to a no-doubt primary victory, Sandoval has stayed out of the spotlight and still enjoys a hefty lead over opponent Rory Reid, according to a new Rasmussen Reports survey. The survey of 500 likely voters was conducted June 22 and found Sandoval had 55 percent of the vote compared to 33 percent for Reid. The rest (8 percent) favored another candidate or (4 percent) were undecided. The poll had a margin of error of +/- 4.5 percentage points A previous poll taken after the primary found Sandoval leading Reid 55 percent to 31 percent, respectively. Since then Reid has begun his attack, lambasting Sandoval for his silence, even going so far as to label him Bunker Brian. With education the foundation of his campaign, Reid launched his first television ad this week, alongside a series of news releases and Twitter attacks claiming Sandoval, if elected, would eliminate teaching positions throughout the state.
