Permeates the area. I have a frequent flyer friend who says "Friends
don't let friends fly through Miami".

Port Everglades is on top as it is the most unusual port in the world!

Normally ports are in the heart of the city that was built around it.
Port Everglades is in the heart of the most expensive residential an
tourist district of Ft Lauderdale.

Most ports are inundated with hookers, drunks and crime. Port Everglades
has some drunks and homeless, but not like the streets behind Biscayne
Blvd in Miami.

Port everglades has the closest airport of any port and many good hotels
and resorts as well as restaurants, shops etc.

Port Everglades was always the winter home of high priced luxury ships
and world cruises. It was known as the 5 star port. In 1985 the Costa
Riviera started operating the first year- round 7 day cruises. The
Miami operators said that it would never work from Port Everglades,
but the converted Marconi was a big success and laid the foundation or
all those who said it wouldn't work, to move ships to Port Everglades.
