Hi!!

My name is Kara and I am the summer intern Susan hired. We are onboard
ship here in Cape Canaveral. Our departure has been delayed one day, so
there isn't much to say about the expedition. Instead I'll tell you
about myself.

Let's see. I'm almost 20 years old and I am a junior Oceanography major
at Central State University. Actually, I started out in Marine Biology
(I just love petting Dolphins and Manatees and such - don't you?) but
almost all my classmates were girls so I couldn't get a boyfriend.
Bummer!

Someone told me that there were more boys in Oceanography, so I
switched. They were right, (it's because of the math- ugh!) and I did
get a boyfriend - Bobby. He is my best boyfriend forever. Since his name
is Bobby I call him BBFFB. (Get it?)

I am so excited to have this job. Just think, a few days ago I was
wondering what to do with my summer and know I am on a big ship headed
towards Penguin Island in the North Atlantic. BBFFFB is also excited. He
can't believe I am getting paid to do this. He says he is going to help
me spend my money when I get back. I am smarter than that. In fact I
think I am smarter than BBFFB. I think in any boy/girl relationship the
girl should be smarter. It just makes things go better!

Well I am supposed to be putting Susan's penguin suit together. I'm not
very good at sewing. The suit doesn't look right to me. Susan said not
to worry she would help me tomorrow. She is so nice.

I learned one thing about ships. Port side is where the ocean is not
where the the port is. When I questioned this, I was told that port side
would indeed be where the port is once the ship pulled out of harbor. I
am so confused!

I think I will check out the ship's resturant. Ships are supposed to
have great restaurants...right?

Toodles

Kara

Well... This is gettin' sorta scary...

Wait a minute. This isn't some lame attempt at getting Larry work,
is it?

Oh yeah. Like a raspberry cheer, right? But better with less spit.

Hummm North Atlantic? That is very exciting! I hope you don't get your
expectation dashed too much. But look for Puffins.
BBFFFB is also excited. He

I would hope that Larry would like to be involved with this too. He's
been pretty idle lately...
