As I reported in another thread, the outbound via Frankfurt was a disaster. But coming back it all worked OK. As I expected, there were two (quite long) bus trips involved at Dusseldorf, but the first one dropped off at doorway with a short-cut (no x-ray to queue for) to the departure lounge. Schengen-outgoing passport control was some distance at the far end of the lounge, but I still got to the gate at almost exactly "gate reporting time", 30 minutes ahead of departure time. Based on when the second bus got to the plane, there was about fifteen minutes leeway. Several other people were making the same change as I was, and there was much complaint about "changes in the schedules" which had resulted in this mad dash being necessary. Due to short immigration queue, and almost instant baggage reclaim delivery, at Birmingham I emerged landside just five minutes after the scheduled arrival time. -- Roland Perry
