Uh... that's "purty".

True story... I was late-teens when I first saw Deliverance (took a
date on a Saturday night). The following weekend, I went on a canoe/
hiking trip deep into the Adirondacks. We had to canoe/portage about
15 miles to get to our campsite in the smack middle of nowhere. I
spent a lot of time scanning the shoreline for signs of activity...

My friends had a tourist pamphlet they'd picked up in Georgia, when they
were looking for locations for kayaking/float camping trips.

It was for the Chattooga River, and proclaimed, "As Seen in the Movie
'Deliverance'" as a selling point.

I about peed myself.

Why was it called Dueling Banjos when it was really a dueling
guitar and banjo? Was the piece originally done with banjos
doing both parts?

(I apologize for asking an almost serious question.)

The tune has been around longer than the movie.
