Did the saying change? When I lived in Texas they used to say:

"The higher the hair, the closer to God!"

Or sometimes someone would say...

"Y'all ain't from around here, are you, son?"

Here in Louisiana all they usually say is...

"Pass the hot sauce, please."

They love their hot sauce. Bless their hearts.
