There are taxis and also buses. The most enjoyable way to get there is
to walk (popular way of doing it to) though you can bus/cab it back. On
your schedule though, it would seem best to take a taxi upon arrival to
Oia directly.

Thanks, David,
We probably will take a taxi both ways so that we will be able to spend more
time enjoying Oia. Our daughter has not been to either one of the cities.
Taking a taxi both ways might allow us to spend some of the time between
both of the cities. I am sure the walk would be beautiful, especially going
down, but not feasible with the time constraints we are under.

By the way, our son is returning from London tonight and from his calls and
e-mails, he really enjoyed his week's stay in London...he especially liked
mingling and talking to the people wherever he went. His five days there
were nice and sunny, but when he returned from his conference in Roeun, he
was met with some rain...but not enough to dampen his spirits and vacation
days there.
