And I've never understood why unless it was "guilt by association".

Yes, ours are issued by the county sheriffs. In fact, if you ask
nicely, and give some reasonable-sounding explanation, they will issue
an "unrestricted" permit that allows you to carry any legal firearm.

Well, it would be difficult to conceal an M16, but...Alabama has two
types of permits - "qualified" and "unlimited". Basically, with an
unlimited permit, you can carry anything you can conceal. A Qualified
Permit means you may only be able to carry certain caliber pistols.
Most permits will be issued as "unlimited" or "unrestricted", but
occasionally, in certain counties, they issue them as "qualified" unless
you ask for "unlimited".

And I'm assuming that "guilt by association" would be with me... But
I, too, have never understood Paragon's pure hatred of me when I've
never had a bad thing to say about her.

I've pointed this out to her. Mutual friends have pointed this out to
her. It just seems to be a case of someone being too stubborn to
admit to making an irrational judgement and getting even angrier when
the folly of their ways is pointed out.

Someone had to clue me in to what was said, since my killfile works quite
well. No, your actions were all your own. And some people here remember
what happened.

And others? Get over it. I actually don't hate anyone here--I would not
waste that much energy on anyone. Sometimes I am a very good judge of
character. This is one of those times.
