Good morning RADP and assorted spammers. The sun is rising over the
savanna, I have a cup of REAL coffee, and all is right with the world.

I'm here for a week with my friend Deb W. (the OTHER Deb W.). We're in
AKL room 3566, which is one of those end rooms that's L shaped, giving
us almost a second room--great place to stash the luggage. Also a
great view. Only real downside is the long walk to get here.

I checked in yesterday morning around ten, and the room was actually
ready already. My purple locker hadn't arrived yet, the bell person
said she was sure they hadn't arrived because today was they day they
brought doughnuts and the doughnuts weren't here yet. So I dropped my
stuff, left Deb a voice mail telling her that her key was at the front
desk, and went out to play bus roulette.

Bus roulette took me to Animal Kingdom. It was crowded, really
crowded, so crowded it was hard to just walk. Undaunted, I went back
to see if I could view the new baby gorilla. Mom and baby were napping
right in front of the window and with patience it took me about 20
minutes to work my way up front to see them. All you could see of baby
was the top of her tiny head and a tiny hand. Deb called then and said
she was on the Magical Express bus. Time to head back.

As it turned out, it took me exactly as long to get back to AKL from
AK as it took Deb to get in from the airport. Off to lunch at Sanaa
where we had the salad sampler and the appetizer sampler, leaving no
room for the chicken tandoori we also had our eye on. Sanaa is
definitely my new favorite place to eat at WDW. Whoever cooks there is
not afraid of flavor, heat, or texture. Lunch was quite inexpensive by
Disney standards--with TiW discount, it was about $25 including tip.

After lunch, bus roulette took us to Epcot. The Flower and Garden show
seems to have gotten a Wilderness Lodge theme judging from the display
at the entrance. Spaceship Earth was down and the CM seemed unhopeful
that it would open. Soaring had a 50-minute wait and we weren't in the
mood for that. Off to the Living Sea with Nemo. I can't say I was all
that thrilled with the Nemo overlay, but the kids seemed to like it
and we spent a contemplative hour or so staring at fish. Then we
ducked into Innoventions to look around and take a short Segway ride.
Back to AKL for a rest and dinner at Boma.

Boma at 7:30 or so was only about half full. Dinner was mostly good,
although I'm really noticing how much Boma has gone towards making
food softer, sweeter, and blander. I guess they're cooking for their
audience, but I'm not fond of the trend. There was a new corn and
spinach pudding that could have easily been dessert. Every soup was
too sweet except the lentil, which was too salty. I think we'll be
doing more Sanaa and less Boma from now on.

After dinner we hung out in our room for a bit trying to get the
security set on the new wireless router--never did figure it out.

Small room peeves: There aren't really enough outlets and the new
mattresses make the beds way too high.

Yeah! Andy brings his own single cup coffee maker and he's happy. I
drink tea and we are all good to go!

I would like a room like that. I bet it's quiet too.

I think all the really great rooms at AKL are a long walk.

We play bus roulette too. Makes for more fun.

We liked it for dinner too. I had the shrimp salad tandoori and it was
huge. I loved it.

I wonder what happened at Boma. I know that the Exec chef at Jiko is
also responsible for Boma. When Anette left the control might have left
too. She was not afraid of spices.

If any one does, I would love to know the secret too.
> Small room peeves: There aren't really enough outlets
We bring spliters and an extension cord with additional outlets. And
long ethernet cable too. The ONLY HSIA outlet is usually not accessible
to the laptop. And it reduces my frustration. At Kidani the outlet is
in the bedroom on the desk. My cable reaches into the living area easily.

A princess stool is on the way to you, Caren! Love the report. I
look forward to more. Lisa

Spaceship Earth was down on Sunday as well.

Do you have a favorite topiary?
