2 x passengers, tickets say we have 2 x 15 kg checked allowance. I know the
case with Ryanair and you are not allowed to combine your luggage allowance
with another on the same reservation, but this is not Ryanair. Is it
acceptable to have (say) one bag weighing 20 kg and another weighing 10 kg.
Or just one bag weighing 30 kg?

Documents do not mention this, but they do say that for lifting purposes the
maximum weight of any bag they will accept is 30 kg.

I would expect them to happily accept the 10Kg bag and charge extra for
the 20Kg bag.

You need to get together (in the queue for check-in if not before) and
arrange to have two bags of 15Kg each.

To some extent you can call it a "stupidity tax" on people who don't do
this.

Very unlikely.

That's the limit per bag, after you've paid their excess baggage
charges.

If they meant what you hope I think they would have said "up to 2 bags of
maximum combined weight of 30kg"
