In most cases, only full fare coach, fare class Y, is refundable, and those are very expensive, like $2000 or more. Poking around, I see some LAX-MNL fares under $1000 with non-lethal cancellation penalties. Some will give you a refund less $100 or $250, some won't give you a refund but will let you reschedule your trip for later, again with a $100 or $250 penalty. > I have some things going on in my life where I might not be able to >make the RT trip to the Philippines and I want to have the option of >cancelling. Right, although a specialist agent who knows that market would probably be able to help you find a ticket with reasonable refund or change penalties. >Is thare any trip insurance with liberal cancellation clause? You'd be better off buying your ticket on an airline that lets you cancel and get a refunds less $100 or $250. As I said, there appear to be such tickets available LAX-MNL. R's, John
