I have been thinking over your last emails. I now think that we
shouldn't be best friends forever.

I know from experience that when boys get a breakup email they take it
badly. So I don't want you to think this is all your fault. At least
some of it must be mine - right? But oversleeping and not knowing who
your professors are - I mean how grownup was that?

Whatever you do next I want you, as one last favor, to promise me you
won't do anything stupid. In particular under no circumstances should
you kill yourself on campus. I simply can't afford to be involved in a
second suicide!

I know this is difficult for you, so you don't really have to send a
reply to this email.
