Las Vegas Semi-Solo Trip Itinerary July 2010
T-7 days and counting:

This will be my first trip to Vegas this year (I usually go twice a year).
This one will be semi-solo. I'll be leaving next Thursday morning from
Manchester, NH via Southwest for five-days. Renting a car using Dollar
Express. Saved $81 ($137 versus $218) by booking separate reservations of
two days and then three days rather than one five day reservation (go
figure). After getting the rental car, I'll probably do lunch at
Tuscany/Marilyn's Cafe (at which I have 50% off coupons from the LVA MRB)
and eventually check-in to the LV Hilton for 4 nights for $169 total on a
special USPS mailer offer (that includes a Friday and a Saturday night).
The 5th night (a Monday night) will also be at the Hilton (via Hotels.com
for $45). I booked through Hotels.com for the 5th night since I already have
nine previous rental nights through Hotels.com and this will give me my 10th
Hotels.com night. This 10th night will give me a free night anywhere
hotels.com rents rooms up to the average nightly cost of my 10 previous
nightly stays. The average cost will be high as seven of the previous rental
nights were at relatively high rates in Aruba.

Entertainment

For entertainment, I have only Sunday night locked in yet. But Thursday
might take in a late afternoon show of Big Elvis at Bill's and do a $10 MP
while there and then walk over to the Westin C. and do a $25 MP from ACG and
possibly hit the House of Blues acoustic night show later. Friday night I
will be joined by my brother and his friend and we might catch YBR at GVR at
11:00 PM. Saturday night might see The Fab at the Cannery and later head to
the Palms Casino. Sunday night I have two free tickets ($8.00 service fee)
thanks to GoldStar (and Walt's of AVLV heads up ) to see Zen Magic at the PH
shopping mall theatre. On Monday night might see Rick Thomas at the Sahara
using a 50% off MRB coupon or tix4tonite. At some point I will probably also
attempt to take a gander at City Center, though it just doesn't look like a
fun place.

Gambling

As usual, I have matchplays and freeplays (MPs and FPs) from ACG, LVA MRB,
and a LVRJ Coast insert (though this year the MRB is sparse on MPs). My most
extensive coupon run will be near/on strip consisting of Orleans, Gold
Coast, Palms, Circus Circus (Wincard), Sahara, Riviera, Tuscany, Terribles,
Hard Rock, Ellis Island, Westin C, and Bill's and maybe include Wincard
deals at Excalibur and Mandalay Bay. I'll also do a downtown MP/FP coupon
run including Vegas Club, Plaza, 4Queens, Golden Gate, and ElCo.

Depending upon how much time I spend with my brother and his friend doing
other stuff, I may also do a Boulder Highway coupon run including E.
Cannery, Sam's, and The Longhorn. Besides coupon runs, I plan to spend some
time playing $0.25 x 10 coin FP Deuces Wild (FPDW) VP at the Rainbow Club
Casino in Henderson and $0.25 FPDW and $0.50 to $1.00 Loose Deuces Wild VP
at GVR, the Palms, and the LV Hilton.

Food

This year, unfortunately, none of the LVA MRB Station Casino Buffet coupons
are good for 50% off for one, so will probably use ACG/LVA MRB 50% off
buffet coupons at the Silverton, Rampart, and/or Orleans by myself. I'll
also likely use 50% off restaurant coupons at Du-Pars at the Golden Gate,
Marilyn's at Tuscany, and the 24/7 Caf at the Palms. Also may grab a
sandwich at Capriotti's at GVR, some fries at San Gennaro at The Venetian
Casino Food Court; and stop by the Peppermill. But nothing's in stone.

Will send a trip report upon return.

Stop in at Ellis Island, too, and if you like to gamble, El Cortez.
Have fun!

DineLV.com has a great deal on Rick Thomas, a pair of tix for $19.00.

https://www.dinelv.com/shows.html

According to their site, the offers that begin with "DineLV Dollars" are
emailed to you and then you print them out. Other offers are sent out thru
old-fashioned US mail within 24 hours. They also have other show and dining
deals that might interest you.

Oh My,, Rick Thomas.
What a nice guy.

I've been seeing his show when it was at the Trop, and his tigers were
only a 'bundle of fur' for many many years.

The last time I saw his show (And I might add that I have never paid for
it!!) the tigers were around 1 foot plus taller than Rick, and Rick is
over 6 foot!!!

Reminds me, I must drop him an email to see how things are going.

Dr Bob.
