I've met a number of Americans in Goa who live there all year round as
US citizens can get a ten year tourist visa to India.

Goa is cheap, the weather is good, the food excellent and the people
are friendly and speak English most of the time.

But it's not what you'd call 'sophisticated'. However the overnight
sleeper train to Bombay is cheap and fun.

"Any number under six"

The answer given by Englishman Richard Peeke when asked by the Duke of
Medina Sidonia how many Spanish sword and buckler men he could beat
single handed with a quarterstaff.

Maybe he could put up Evelyn? :)

Current estimates are that about 25,000 to 30,000 Brits live there while
claiming benefits, especially sickness and disability benefits as
there's no routine check to see if you're in the UK.

Indeed, I don't think you need to be in the country to claim them as
long as you remain a British resident.

Precisely why I chose Arizona, instead! (What one would do if one had
unlimited means must usually remain an unrealized dream, alas.)
