Jonah Goldberg can put down France with much more panache. :-) I understand that "Martel" means the "the hammer" and that he was also known as "the pope's general'. He routed the Saracens at Tours, which was a good thing and lasted quite a few centuries. However, under islamic jurisprudence, any infidel land that has been invaded in jihad becomes a part of islam land even if the invasion was unsuccessful and the incursion into Tours meets that criteria-- and as such does not bode well for us infidels............
