I was where you are in my Disney obsession a few years ago, and I would
recommend the following for you:

No dining plan. That's for anyone. You are prepaying for something
that's just as easy to pay as you go, and not saving any significant
amount of money with a plan that would make up for all the hassle. If
you buy a plan, you are subjecting yourself to endless rules you have to
keep track of. Just use your room key to charge, it's way simpler and
there's less chance you'll pay for something you don't need or want.

If you definitely want a rental car on property, then by all means get
it at the airport. You will save yourself gobs of time over taking ME
and renting a car at the Car Care Center. Plus, you can stop for
groceries. See www.allearsnet.com for info on routes, tolls, and
grocery stores along the way. You'll have a fridge, so definitely get
your own soda and bottled water and skip the mugs from the food court.

Yes, get hopping on your tickets. I can't stand feeling restricted in
my decisions at Disney. I may only use hopping once or twice in a
week's vacation, but that once or twice I *really* wanted it, and not
having to plan around a lack of flexibility in my tickets is important
to me.

I don't care for Disney Quest. The games aren't that fun for me, it's
loud, really crowded after 4 pm daily or any time it's raining, the good
food they once had is gone. If you're not going to the water parks,
don't waste your money on the Water Parks Fun & More feature. You
really won't be missing much.

It sounds like you need to plan on spending all your time in the main
four parks, especially Animal Kingdom and Epcot.

Don't bother with the Backlot Tour at the Studios, do a real backstage
tour instead! My favorites have been Keys to the Kingdom, the all day
Backstage Magic, Segways Around the World, and the Aquaseas snorkling
experience in the Living Seas tank at Epcot. Next on my list are the
two Animal Kingdom tours. You can use the money you were going to waste
on Disney Quest for the tour.

Planning makes the vacation last up to two years. ;-)

I'll take the advice for the park hoppers and car rental - thanks. As
for Disney quest - it works this way. My 15 year old son (who is my
only traveling companion - my husband is disabled and can't travel) is
a roller coaster and video game fanatic. I get him to Disneyquest and
give him some money in case he wants snacks/beverages etc. He then
does his thing and I go to the World of Disney store and get to do
several hours of shopping - I really dislike shopping except for
Disney stuff and Jewelry. He's happy because he's not shopping and I'm
happy because I'm not in that environment and I get to look at all the
adorable princess things without a teenage boy breaking out in hives.
We each have a cell phone and then meet up in the snack area of disney
quest. Besides - there are a few things I like in Disney quest too
(the pirates of the caribbean thing is totally awesome).

It's so great to know that I'm not the only nutcase out there who is
obsessed with Disney World and planning. thanks guys

For romance it can't be beat.

All of the kings are "preffered view", which means on the "water
side", ie the river.

The RMS Titanic sank on April 15th.
Taxes are due on April 15th.
Coincidence? I think not.
