The weakening of the Euro may not be great news for the global economy but it does bode well for Americans and Canadians traveling to Europe this summer." "North American travelers on ocean-going cruises will feel the positive impact of the lower Euro in shoreside spending, including pre- and post-cruise hotel stays. In addition, MSC and Costa use the Euro as their onboard currency, so onboard purchases on these lines will be a bit cheaper." "The cheaper Euro is not likely to have a direct impact on cruise prices, however, as supply and demand dictate what cruise lines can charge in order to sail full. Current pricing is more closely related to the record number of ships in European waters this summer (excess supply) and the dampening effect that Iceland's Eyjafjallajokull volcano has had on bookings over the past several weeks (restricting demand). Great, last-minute, European cruise bargains should persist through the summer." Just an FYI, John, those greenbacks in your wallet aren't "US Yen"... Warren Hi Warren, There was a time back in December of '41 when we weren't all that sure of that "US Yen" thingee. I must say that I had some strange emotions running around my innards when I cruised around Pearl Harbor, especially when the announcing was bi-lingual, English and Japanese. We were told about a sneak attack, but what did they tell the Japanese? Great victory? It does make you wonder. Being friendly is a whole lot better. Harry Cooper

You still post the name of a currency which does not exist. Please take it on board that asking for EuroDollars is a sure way to get contempt. People should not be misled with false information. You write that you had a wallet full of currency whose name you could not be bothered to remember If you cannot remember a name with only four letters, what reliance can be put on anything else you claim to be "fact"? Does posting your signature file not carry with it any obligation to try to be accurate? Regarding tipping:- WHEN ABROAD, FIND OUT THE LOCAL RULES AND FOLLOW THEM. Otherwise the line of this post applies. Happy (properly informed) cruising. |
