Are you talking about the World Showcase Players, Serveur Amusant,
Sergio, OrisiRisi, Off Kilter, etc.? They're still very much there.
I saw several of them in January.

I've noticed more street performers during crowded afternoon hours and
high attendance periods.

I didn't think so - I've never run into any of those on the
World Showcase side. The performers I remember from the
'70s and '80s were on the Innoventions side. The World
Showcase Players may be the successors. I'll have to keep
going back till I run into them!

You don't have to leave it to chance! The back of the Times
Guide for Epcot has a handy chart listing the schedules for
many of the street performers. In advance of your trip, you
can also look here:

http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/EPCOT.htm

The performers I originally mentioned are all in World Showcase,
but the Jammitors perform in Future World. And there are several
other entertainment groups I didn't mention (musicians, magicians,
acrobats, storytellers, etc.).

In fact, it's, er, rather HARD to miss OffKilter or Matsuriza Drummers
from any nearby vicinity in the Showcase--

On a clear day, you can hear the Kilter all the way to Norway, or the
Drummers from the right upper Beach Club window.
