Probably I will have to make a decision before any answers but.

My flight today Bristol Faro is cancelled due to ash over Portugal.

I cant rebook return part on-line as I have already checked in. Says to
call reservations.

Will they do the return part free of additional charge?

Anyone done this?

If the second flight is cancelled- then yes, they'll have to re book you or
give a refund.
Ryanair don't sell return flights, they're all single journeys

Why do they have a selecting option called 'return' ?

Pretty sure when the various "experts" were on TV answering questions during
the last Ash bout. Ryanair was a named airline that wouldn't pay out for the
"return" part of a trip, that someone couldn't take beacause he couldn't get
there to actually not take it !!!
Obviously the best thing you can do is speak to Ryanair.

They may try and claim this (actually I don't believe that they do) the law
will not support them.
