Well, at least he got his AP activated. Got to hand it to him, Bernie is smooth :) Sounds like the kind of guy you could have a beer (or Fresca) with, sitting on your extra-points BLT balcony, monitoring the parking lot and watching monorails float by. http://attractionsmagazine.com/blog/2009/05/27/pictures-from-within-disneys-new-bay-lake-tower/ Note the Castle pic (zoomed-in), the Space Mountain pic (zoomed-in) then the Monorail/Parking-Lot pic. http://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/destinations/resorts/bay-lake-tower/ The shot from the roof, of MK fireworks (part of the slide show), certainly looks brochure perfect (above the 15th floor?). It comes right after the monorail shot, taken looking *back* at BLT. One can certainly see how the monorail would come into play, viewing from a lower floor, when looking *towards* the MK. Hard to believe that marketing didn't Photoshop that monorail beam for the brochure shots -- it's filthy (especially the part in front of the monorail). Still, it could be worse... A "standard" view at one of the resort hotels, with the dumpster view :) We're laughing with you, Queen...
From: Sue/WDW1972 on 3 Aug 2010 11:46 The general consensus seems to be MK view is a waste of points. I knew that all along - no way would I spend extra points to have what's really a parking lot view with MK off in the distance. Give me the pretty lake view any time! Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay, and think of the points you'll save next time ;-) Hint the lower numbered rooms (last 2 digits of the number) are lake view but also have a view of MK & fireworks. I think we were in xx08 our 2nd trip and it was perfect for the fireworks (it's lake view). Sue/WDW1972

I've never liked the view of the MK fireworks from anywhere at the Contemporary. Too many industrial, backstage things between you and the park. If you have to be outside the park for the fireworks, be ON the lakes or over at the Poly beach. ~Amanda
