It's too bad they closed the old Discovery Island. That was the
nicest place to take a toddler and young children. We only started
going after the AK was open so there were no crowds just friendly
animal exhibits and lots of boardwalks for a little boy or girl to
explore. We used to go in the winter so the island was just crowded
with all sorts of birds.

Many classic older attractions at Disney World have fallen by the
wayside over the years as Disney replaces them with newer (and
occasionally better) ones such as Expedition Everest at Disney's
Animal Kingdom ...

The fakeness and cheesiness was part of its charm...at least for me.
It was, after all, in Fantasyland. Were they going for realism? I
never got that.

I would guess that since it is a listing of 10 they arbitrarily picked
one when they added millionaire when it closed last year.
