Well at least they are getting to the bottom of all their problems since the have gone downhill the last decade and a half. I always knew it was the ceiling and not the filthy carpets, rude employees, cheap souvenir kiosks in every walkway, disrepair and lack of updates in rooms, and mediocre to terrible gaming. As soon as they replace that ceiling with some knockoff "funky" lighting fixtures it will be the Tiffany of the Strip once again! Diamond Jim at the baccarat table drinking milk with 3 ladies betting the table max here we come!

But I can't imagine why they'd not want to keep such a classic piece of decor. I hope they've at least found a buyer for it, rather than toss it in the dumpster.

If retro is what you are craving come down to the Riviera, I assure you it's not filthy

Quite a difference. A ceiling like that would be about $10k today, an authentic Tiffany that size closer to $1 million. -- JK Sinrod www.MyConeyIslandMemories.com

Even though it's not, it's a damn shame that it's being removed. Nothing replacing it could possibly be better. I hope it's preserved somewhere that it can be seen. |
