I get so darned tired of defending myself because I love Disney and I go
frequently. And by my so called "friends" inquiring about my upcoming May "solo"
trip. They make me feel like I have 2 heads or something because I'm going solo
- or they'll say - are you going to meet "Your Friends" - which is you guys at
RADP because they find it totally wierd to go meet a bunch of people that you
talk to on line. Oh well, they're the ones with the problem. Just wanted to
rant a little bit. 32 days until my trip and I can't wait. I'll be the one
walking around in the parks with 2 heads. <g>

Excellent -- you can do more people watching that way LOL! Awww, never mind
what non-Disney fanatics think. Have a great time!

I hear you on all that Linda, but it boils down to - what do you care
what people think?

My wife and I go one or twice a year, plus I usually have a solo trip
as well.

As for meeting RADP (and other) online friends ... it's wonderful that
we now have a technology that even allows us to have friends that we
would never even know in the old days. If you would have had a pen pal
back then - would anyone have thought it was strange?

You may know that I just came back from a trip to WDW that might be
termed "solo" as my wife didn't come with me. But as for meeting
online friends ... it was planned since an online friend was coming
from Australia to see WDW and this trip was all about meeting her and
being her host and guide.

So what am I saying? Don't worry about what your non-Disney friends
think ... go ... have a good time ... and maybe we will meet there one
day.

That's 'cause all your friends are just jealous of you... ;-)

The bottom line is, who cares? We all like to waste our vacations
in different ways.

For instance, I can't understand those who like to cruise. Can't
understand those who go to Vegas year after year. I *really* can't
understand those who want to come to someplace like Chicago
for a vacation. (I won't even mention those who just want to
lay around in front of the TV...)

PiC was one of those who couldn't understand wanting to meet
someone you've only known online. (But I think a lot of you are
changing her mind... <laugh>)

I'm sure some of you can't understand why I like to jump in a
car and drive 5000 miles across the country. Some of you may
not even understand why I'd go to Disneyworld and not be in the
theme parks 12 hours a day.

So, Linda, instead of thinking you have two heads, just pretend
your friends only have half of one...

jmnsho. HAhahahaha...

Here's a story I tell whenever I'm confronted with "You're going
again?"

I had a co-worker who repeatedly questioned why I was returning to
visit Walt Disney World. Every time I announced I’d be “on vacation
next week”, I’d get a sarcastic “Disney again?” and “Why? Has anything
there changed?”

After many futile attempts to explain my rationale, I finally got
through by asking him where he liked to vacation. He spoke lovingly of
a spot on Cape Cod… and a quaint little inn on the ocean… with a
wonderful restaurant… you get the idea. I asked how many times he had
been there. “Six or seven” he said. “And we’re planning another visit
this summer.”

I asked, “Why do you keep going back?”

He started to answer, “We love it there. It’s right on the ocean and
there are these two restaurants and…” and a look of understanding came
over his face. He may not have agreed with me, but he understood.
