Round trip flights to Orlando for family : $900, Hotel and park tickets $1600, Staying in princess suite in : Cinderella's Castle... priceless. It is one of the prizes in the Year : of a Million Dreams This brings to mind a question. After the YoaMD celebration will they rip this suite out, keep it for Disney top management, allow celebs to rent it, or continue to offer it (for an absolutely horrendous amount of cash) for booking? Anyone want to bet that the rate would equal or exceed the total income of the average CM for 20 years? It would be interrsting to see this apartment, but personally I would never feel comfortable staying there. I'll stick with my tent, thanks. On the other hand I could see this as the scene of one of our RADP wine and cheese, and chat parties (if someone wins the lottery). :) Randy ========== Randy Berbaum Champaign, IL

I'll stick with my tent, thanks. I feel the same way, but for a different reason. OK, once you're in your room in the castle, if you want to get up at 3 AM and go somewhere, can you? It's not that I'd go for a jog at the wee hours of the morning, but I wouldn't want to feel like I'm under "lock down" once I'm in the room. If you wake up at 6 AM and want to go for a walk somewhere, can you? Dave in Dallas - The one and only! Accept no substitutes.
From: Rob Steere on 26 Jan 2007 01:28 They've been a little mum on the details, but I believe that in general, once you're in the suite, you're in there for the night. I'm sure if you *really* had to leave they'd let you, but probably would prefer if you stayed in the suite all night. :-) (The logistics of the overnight stay was one of the problems that hadn't even been thought about when either the PR department or Iger came up with this new idea as part of the promotion) As for how much they'd charge after the contest is over.... The Official Rules list the stay in the suite as having an Approximate Retail Value (for tax purposes, I'm sure) of $587. But why do I think that Disney would be able to charge more than that? ;-) The prize also includes dinner at CRT, photos with Cinderella, snacks in the room, and VIP viewing for Spectro and/or Wishes. If a mail-in entry is selected for the Suite, they'd get a gift basket worth the amount of money. -Rob "Dave in Dallas - The One And Only" <Daveintx(a)swbell.net> wrote in message news:2k5jr2p14b3koljf04fv7s8m20c2affm1u(a)4ax.com... > On Fri, 26 Jan 2007 05:32:54 +0000 (UTC), Randy Berbaum > <rberbaum(a)bluestem.prairienet.org> wrote: > > >>It would be interrsting to see this apartment, but personally I would >>never feel comfortable staying there. Instead of 6 nights at a deluxe or even a moderate, you could do 5 nights in a Value and 1 night in the castle. I'd even be wililng to plan well in advance (12-18 monhts) to have a night in the castle. |
